Noah Pascarell: Drums, Lumia Ensemble

Noah began playing drums, guitar, and other instruments at an early age, receiving initial instruction from musicians in the family.  He connected with Lumia Ensemble bass player Gene Orlando in high school and they have been playing together in numerous bands ever since.  His tight funk and hip hop grooves provide the foundation for Lumia’s beat-driven tracks, forming a natural synergy with the bass lines laid down by his long-time friend and collaborator.

How did he get involved with Pieris?

Pieris Founder Eric Haeker knew it was only a matter of time before he’d want to try a living, breathing human instead of his usual laptop beats… He put out the feelers a few months ago searching for a nearly impossible-to-find combination of deep hip hop and funk grooves, comfort within complicated structures like Baroque fugue, and facility with new technologies like MIDI drum kits.  Lumia Ensemble Bassist Gene Orlando introduced Eric to Noah, who not only fit Eric’s bizarre criteria but also owned his own MIDI drum kit.  That kit now spends most of its time in Eric’s basement and Noah has become the latest addition to the band.
