One cannot see the shape of the beach while focused on a grain of sand.  A simple concept, but one which plays tricks when applied to time.  Our lifespans are but a blink, but our people go back 100,000 years.  Civilization came about 10,000 years ago and multi-dimensional artistic awareness emerged around 1,000 years ago.  And what might be next?  Examining the evolution of music on a logarithmic scale reveals the momentum of its curve.
