Our teaching residencies are a little different...

We work with two classes producing tracks for a couple of weeks.  Each class votes to select those few that will represent them in the "battle".  On the big day, two students at a time face off at an assembly with their entire school in the audience.  They take turns playing their tracks and each does thier best to hype the crowd because the applause (well, screaming really) determines their fate.  After several rounds, we eventually have a winner... but there is plenty of drama and energy along the way.

This "battle" format has been adapted for students from the professional dj/producer battle format.
